Learn To Cook Radish Green Leaves Vegetable The Indian Way!

Did you know Radish Green Leaves are edible? Try this simple yet delicious recipe that would make your lips say oh-la-la!

Radish Green Leaves (scientific name: Raphanus sativus) are an added bonus that comes with an edible root vegetable Radish grown above the ground that are very nutritious and rich in magnesium, vitamin C and K, iron, phosphorus and folic acid.

The above image contain some known benefits of consuming Radish however its green leaves being more nutritious comes with additional benefits for example it improves eyesight, cares for your heart, supports weight loss and good for your skin.

So without any further delay let us head to its mouth watering recipe:

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 15 minutes

Total time: 25 minutes

Serves: 2

Cuisine: Indian

Ingredients to be used: Approx. 250 gm of Radish Green Leaves, 1 small piece of ginger, 2 medium-sized potatoes, 1 green chilly, salt, turmeric, red chilly powder, cumin seeds (zeera), cooking oil (best is to use sunflower oil however olive oil can do wonders as well).

Instructions:

  1. Chop the Radish Green leaves into fine pieces. Wash it thoroughly.
  2. Wash the ginger, potatoes and green chilly as well. Cut small pieces of ginger, chilly and potatoes.
  3. Mix it with finely chopped radish green leaves.
  4. Take a medium size Pan (Kadai), heat 1 tbsp of oil and add 1 tsp of cumin seeds in it.
  5. After the cumin seeds sputters and turns slight brown then add the chopped vegetables in it.
  6. Add 1/4 tsp of turmeric, salt (according to the taste), 1 pinch of red chilly powder in it and stir it well.
  7. Pour 1/2 cup of water in it, cover with a lid and let it cook on low flame till the water evaporates and potatoes seems soft.
  8. Serve hot with chapatis.

Notes: It is recommended to stir after every 2 minutes.
